So Microsoft buddied up with CVS last year and has been buying key healthcare software manufacturers like Sentillion, which they purchased in December. This week, Microsoft are announcing their new Healthcare Community Vault software that lets patients (and their doctors) see medical records and make appointments online plus a host of shared functionality. With all the health care legislation goings-on, Microsoft seem to have made a smart move into what could catapult them into a very lucrative vertical market. I must check in with my old colleagues at Sage Healthcare and see what is stirring for them.
